Cordage
Some may wonder why a little craft like rope making or "cordage" would get it's own section, or why it is even important to know. Well, it happens to be one of the first craft oriented skills you will use in a survival situation. In many conditions you can not produce fire if you are without rope and quite a few traps require it as well. Not to mention the countless lashing and fastening challenges you will run into on any given day when you are living in the wild.

How do you find strong fibers for string in the wild? How do you wrap them into cordage? How can you make a rope strong enough for tough duties like bow drill and hunting? When I help you discover the answers to these questions you will never look at string the same way again and you probably will have trouble throwing away any scraps of rope or thread in the future. Your friends and family may find your new outlook on string to be a little “different”.

Activity: If we are in the wild I will show you how to find and prepare tree and plant fibers into strong durable string. If we are in a urban setting I can bring the fibers and show you how to wrap them.
